Moleskine 002

Having a peek at people’s sketchbooks is a guilty pleasure of mine. I love peering into someone else’s nitty-gritty thoughts and looking at their creative ideas, whether it’s in person or on a blog. For people that are just as nosey as I am, I thought I’d share some of my favourite pages from my current moleskine
I was so tempted to crack out photoshop and take away all the smudges and grime from a lot of these pages, but then I thought that was too much like cheating so I thought I'd leave them 'au natural' with all their messy smudging!

Pretty much all the sketches are done from photos off of Pinterest and WeHeartItmy favourite page has got to be the sketch of the girl under her duvet, it makes me smile every time I see it because she looks so damn comfy! Graphite has been used in literally every page, apart from the coloured hand, purely because I love how soft and smudgy it is to work with.
Some sketches are definitely better and more polished than others but I force myself not to be too perfect with some pages otherwise the spontaneity and experimentation gets taken out. I'd really like to start drawing outside; become one of those cool people that sits in coffee shops and draws 'passers by'. The only technicality it how to transport pens, pencils, rubbers and any paints if I wanted to go all out. Perhaps a stationary/sketchbook holder is in order?

Mid-Month Motivation || June

This photo was taken by my lovely friend Darcey whilst a few of us were lazing around on top of a cliff near her house a few weeks back. I'm kitted out in these denim dungarees from Topshop, mid polaroid snap of the bay and sea.
The weather was gorgeous when we were there and it was the first time in a while any of us had spent the whole day outside soaking up the sun. I'd seen this quote on Pinterest ages ago and thought how accurate and eloquent it is; something that has stuck with me as we begin this summer.

Creating & Expressing

I’ve always been fascinated by creating little movies and clips; playing around with funky music and creating something snappy. It’s a process I find really satisfying, taking a moment and trying to recreate it. When I was younger I’d crack out Windows Movie Maker on the family computer and spend hours making these silly movies, the ones where you take lots of photos to make it look as if objects are moving of their own accord - there’s probably some technical word for that!
So a couple of months back the idea of making YouTube videos to fuel this fascination resurfaced, with it quickly becoming something I actually had the time and effort for.
Since this blog is all about the expressing, creating and all that jazz I thought it was only fair to do a little post on this new channel of mine. Feel free to watch it, or not.

Versatile Blogger Award

I think I’d better start by giving a big THANKYOU to TeaTimeWithCiara for nominating me for this award! I feel as if I’ve been doing this whole blogging malarkey for no time at all so to be nominated is just super exciting.

Now for the rules:
  1. Thank the person who gave you this award.
  2. Include a link to their blog – if you can figure out how to do it.
  3. Next, select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.
  4. Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award – you might include a link back to the post on your site announcing their nomination.
  5. Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

So. 7 Things About Me
  1. I’m a sucker for high heels but haven’t yet collected enough courage yet to brave it and wear them out on a daily basis.
  2. My love for orange lipstick is very real, I’m pretty picky when it comes to choosing the right shade but when it’s right, its right.
  3. Anyone who knows we personally won’t be surprised when I say this, but I have to admit I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to music taste. If it’s popular or the song’s not written by the artist themselves I’m not interested. Yup, I’m one of those.
  4. I’m a firm believer that travel broadens the mind, my goals are to live abroad for at least a year when I’m older and see the world as much as possible.
  5. I play two instruments, the ukulele which is super cute and tiny compared to my awesome electric guitar which I’m determined to become pro at and fulfil those dreams of becoming Lindsay Lohan in the film Freak Friday.
  6. Savoury over sweet every time. Although I do have a weak spot for Haribos, especially the fizzy ones
  7. If someone asked my what my recipe for a perfect day out would be; a bunch of friends, good food, summery weather and somewhere cute in the countryside would have to be my staple ingredients.
